Civic Center Rental

 

The D.V. Childs Civic Center is available for rent on a first-come-first-served basis.  Civic organizations, non-profit organizations, businesses and individuals (families) are welcomed to rent the center.  Any function requiring admission tickets must show proof by appropriate means that the money derived from the sale of tickets shall be used for charitable purposes only.  The sale of tickets for profit at the center is strictly prohibited.

 

Fee

The fee to rent the center is $50.00 per day.  A $100.00 deposit is also required.  All functions scheduled during regular City Hall working hours will be monitored by on duty staff.  An inspection of the facilities (center and bathrooms) will be conducted before deposit is refunded.  All functions scheduled for evenings, weekends or holidays will require the presence of one security guard for groups under 50 people, and two security guards for groups 51 people and over.  The hourly rate for each security guard is $18.00 per hour with a minimum time of three (3) hours.   Minimum fee for security guard is $54.00.  This fee will be paid along with the rental fee when reservation is made.  Any cancellation must be made 24 hours prior to use or paid fee will be forfeited.  The security guard will submit a form to City Hall listing the condition of the center, bathrooms, surrounding buildings and grounds after each function.  (Note:  The requirement for security guards does not apply to other governmental agencies.)

Occupational Tax (Business License)

 

Occupational Taxes (Business Licenses) are required by anyone doing business in the City of Gray.  The fee is calculated  per employee (including owner/operator) as follows:

Insurance Companies and agents are charged a flat rate of $25.00 for the calendar year. 

 

Beer and Wine Sales ——————–—– $300.00 per year

Beer and Wine Pouring ————–——– $400.00 per year

Distilled Spirits Pouring ———-——–-$2,000.00 per year

 

Occupational Tax is due and payable annually on January 1. Any individual, business or practitioner subject to any occupation tax which is unpaid for ninety (90) days after the date on which payment is due, shall be subject to a penalty of ten percent (10%) of the tax or fee due.

Planning & Zoning Fees

Building Fee Schedule

Effective Dates

For Jones County: December 22, 2003

For the City of Gray:  January 5, 2004

 

 

All application fees and building permits are non-refundable.

 

Rezonings application fee:  $150.00

Variance application fee:  $150.00

Conditional Use application fee:  $150.00

Conditional Use for towers in City of Gray application fee: $300.00 as of 8/7/00

No building permit is required if construction is less than $1,000.

(If inspection is required, a miscellaneous  permit will be needed.)

 

Fees will be rounded to the next dollar. All permit fees double if permit is issued after use or after construction begins.
